The' Nrityakala - Utsav ', a socio - cultural program organise by Institute of Climate & Agriculture Reorientation ( ICARe - Alliance ), aims to promote environmental awareness campaign against the climate change and make it a social movement by mobilising community's participation in its mitigation . The 'Together, Dancing against the waves' campaign , under " Nrityakala - Utsav " program will be organised as a national level dance competition of an environmentally themed dance in classical , folk , and western by the students in the groups or solo .

In this intervention , the ICARe - Alliance is a talent spotter so our job is to find talented cultured - environmentalists . When school children , both senior & junior categories take up the environmental awareness activities and performed through dance, they attract huge public attention which eventually becomes public support for an environmental cause .

The educational institutions are the place where they reorient the change makers , as students are the powerful tool to scale up efforts against climate change . So , we are engaging school children as " Ambassador for Environment " to become whistle - blowers against the global crisis.

This is the largest such program in India . When these students grow up and take the environmental challenges of the country , it is expected that there will be huge difference made to the way the resources are consumed and conserved.

The students , which are presently in age group -1 ) pre- Nursery to Primary , group - 2 ) class- 6th to 10th & group - 3 ) 11th to 12th classes .

In the first round , we will invite teams across the country to select as intervention zones from the schools / Dance classes Institutes.

A few glimpses of the celebrations are given below:

Climate Change

Climate change is a major environmental risk to human life. The formation, dispersion of many air & water pollutants is determined specific issues by climate and weather factors such as temperature, humidity, wind, storms, droughts, precipitation and partly by human activities known to produce various air & water pollutants. It is thus logical to assume that climate change will influence the dynamics of natural resources. By reducing pollution levels in natural resources, we can increase the working hours of young people & reduce the burden of disease from stroke, heart disease, lung cancer, and both chronic and acute respiratory diseases, including asthma especially in children.

Can schools help spread the word?
Yes, Schools should lead the environmental conservation events. The cultural events can cultivate effective Environmental Awareness.

Come, join the “Together, Dancing against the Waves” , an awareness program on polluted natural resources, e.g. blue Sky, blue Sea & green Earth. The students must take oath to become an agent of change as well as teachers must lead the environmental conversation.

This will encourage future leaders to engage with the environmental program to protect it and can help communities become more environmentally aware. Schools should engage their students in the accountable scouting activity of the environment and accept the challenges to showcase their talent in Indian Dance Arts with the clear message of environmental protection. The students, which are presently in age Group-1) pre-nursery to primary, Group-2) class- 6th to 10th & 11th to 12th classes.

“Art of Raising Happiness ...the dancing” We feel thatthe students in this age group are very observant. So, the classroom is the ideal place to introduce environmental awareness.

[Especially for pre-nursery to nursery participants; the students can display an empathy for living creatures because empathy is an important value. The school management must embed environment conservation in the role played through dance where children become animals, plants or insects and how they would feel if their homes and habitats are destroyed.]

In this intervention, ICARe-Alliance is a talent spotter, our job is to find talented environmentalist. In this event, the environment scouts show off their skills in a talent show. When school children take up the environmental awareness activities through dance, they attract huge public attention which eventually becomes public support for an environmental cause.

The educational institutes can become change maker, as students are the powerful tool to scale up efforts against Climate Change. So, we are engaging school children as “Green Scouts Club” members to become whistle-blowers against the global crisis.

Since school children are involved, most of the activities of children are linked to the culture and cultural aspects of conservation of natural resources and the environment. This is the largest such programm in India. When these students grow up and take the environmental challenges of the country, it is expected that there will be huge difference made to the way the resources are consumed and conserved.
