Welcome to The Institute of Climate and Agriculture Reorientation (ICARe)

The growing demand for food is increasingly straining agricultural systems in the face of climate change, resource degradation, and biodiversity loss. While the agricultural sector has experienced cycles of growth and decline over the years, one of its most pressing challenges today is persistent economic instability, with farmers facing significant financial losses.

Agriculture is vital to India's economy. It's driving domestic markets, creating jobs, contributing over 4% to GDP, and employing more than 67 million people. However, rural India’s farming community is in dire straits. Despite the sector’s importance, farming remains a financially unstable enterprise, contributing to widespread poverty and leaving many farming communities unable to envision a more prosperous future.

Given the new legislative period in India, it is crucial to reassess the agriculture sector. To reignite its economic potential, the focus must shift to fostering agricultural growth and strengthening the domestic market.
